Family is very important to us.  We even have two generations of our family actively working the kennel.  And when you board with us, you and your pet become part of OUR family!  We do our best to treat your family member as you would treat them.  We purposely maintain the size of our facility where it currently is.  Our experience has been that the larger you get, no matter how hard you try, the less personal the relationships become.  Quality is more important to us than quantity!

Cinder Hills is not your typical kennel with chain link runs on top of concrete floors.  Our facility is located on 5 acres in a rural setting.  We are Flagstaff's only kennel that offers tiled floors, in-floor heating, thermostatically controlled HVAC systems and cat condos each with perches and a window!  All of our dog runs are indoor/outdoor where your family member has their own exclusive and completely covered outdoor portion connected to their inside semi-private resting area.  Our kennel yard is the largest in Northern Arizona and not divided up into smaller exercise yards.  This ensures your family member gets the most during the complimentary playtimes!  We do not co-mingle pets from different families, preferring to give one-on-one attention!  You can rest easily knowing that the owners actually live onsite!

Our day begins at 7:30 AM when we open the dogs up to the "outside" portion of their run.  The dogs and cats are fed and watered, scooped and litter boxes are cleaned.  This usually takes us about an hour to accomplish and at this point the staff splits up.  Some start on our Fun in the Forest Hikes while others will begin playing with individual dogs in our yard and cats in our Purring Parlor.  We do not co-mingle pets from different families, preferring to give one-on-one attention!  We continue this routine of rotating guests until the office closes for the day.  The dogs are locked inside their indoor portion when the sun starts to set and the cats are locked inside of their private condos.  At 8:30 PM, we open the dogs back up and let them have one last chance to "do their business" before bringing them back in and saying goodnight.  All guests receive their last complimentary treat of the day.  This means your pet is only locked inside from about 9:30 PM until 7:30 AM!  No other facility does this!  We do give complimentary treats throughout the day unless you direct us otherwise.  Photos of our guests are taken daily and posted on Facebook, so "Like" us on our page to ensure you don't miss out!
